A mutant shapeshifter and former criminal, Eames took a job that landed him in hot water, but that's a pretty desirable skillset he's got there. In exchange for his service for [amount of time] SHIELD gave him access to curated research into shapeshifters (for their own benefit tbh) and also not-prison.

maybe our kind don't f i t round here « undergrounds was a lot of fun okay.       ↺ An intentionally relatively unknown, Eames is an Unseelie fae who had (and probably always will have) a lot of untapped potential, but he's an incredibly skilled shapechanger and illusionist. Over the course of the game, the importance he places on his personal freedom ended up with him rising quickly to become Lord of Autumn.

Space pirates.       ↺ Eames is a skrull (shut up,) formerly one of the Empire's top deep cover agents, but unfortunately the little tastes of freedom made him realise he actually can't stand being beholden to some faceless, imperial machine's rules. Being so good at what he did also gave him the tools and connections necessary to escape and stay out of their grasp. He works now as a thief and a smuggler, the thrill and the money is more than enough for him to feel fulfilled.
